A malfunctioning robot attacked an engineer on the floor of Tesla’s Texas factory in 2021, but was only reported last month.
The engineer was programming software that controls robots at Tesla’s Texas factory, Austin .
According to witnesses, the robot pinned the engineer to a surface and dug its claws into his arms and back, making him bleed.
As another floor worker hit the emergency stop button, the software engineer manuevered his way out of the machine’s grasp.
Though the injury was not grave, the engineer suffered a “laceration, cut or open wound” on his left hand, as reported. Tesla refused to comment on the story .
According to injury reports submitted to the US Occupational Safety and Health Administration, one in 21 workers at Tesla’s Texas factory was injured in some way or the other last year.
