Electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing giant Tesla is likely to establish its first local India manufacturing plant in Gujarat.  

An announcement is likely to be made during the Vibrant Gujarat Summit scheduled for January 2024

Tesla CEO Elon Musk is likely to be present for the occasion.

Gujarat is optimistic about automaker giant Tesla’s entry into the state, Rushikesh Patel, spokesperson of the state government and cabinet minister, asserted on Thursday. 

It seems that Gujarat was in Elon Musk’s mind when they surveyed the entire India.

As per the report Gujarat’s strategic location and business environment has made it into Tesla’s preferred destination for its manufacturing plant.

The state government has reportedly offered Sanand, Dholera and Becharaji as choices for the location of the plant. 

Tesla aims to cater to both domestic and international (re: export) demands from the Gujarat plant.
